From Tree Planting to Beekeeping, this is How an Italian Manufacturer is Advancing Net-Zero Goals by 2050

In 2020, SandenVendo launched its Carbon Neutral Project to offset the CO₂ emissions from its Italian manufacturing plant by planting trees in a protected area along the Po River in northern Italy.

Initially, over 2,000 trees were planted, promoting the flourishing of local flora and fauna.

Building on this foundation, the company has committed to planting additional trees to reach a total of 2,700 by March 2025. This initiative is directly linked to the sales of SandenVendo’s vending machines: for each unit sold, a portion of the profit is allocated to tree planting.

The more machines sold, the more trees are planted, contributing to a healthier environment for all!

In addition to reforestation, SandenVendo has introduced locally grown beehives within the same forested area in northern Italy. These bees have been thriving, producing acacia and wildflower honey gifted honey to each employee of the Coniolo factory during the recent Christmas season

This initiative not only supports biodiversity but also fosters a deeper connection between the company's sustainability efforts and its workforce.

SandenVendo's endeavors align with global objectives to combat climate change: the United Nations emphasizes the need to reduce emissions by 45% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

By pursuing carbon neutrality and integrating sustainable practices, SandenVendo contributes to these critical targets, demonstrating that industrial growth and environmental stewardship can progress hand in hand.

Through its Carbon Neutral Project, SandenVendo is a living example of how businesses can actively participate in creating a sustainable future, benefiting both the planet and their communities.
